ABOUT JP EXPORTS
JP Exports partner with growers and produce buyers to market a full range of fresh produce. We distribute fruit and vegetables from New Zealand and international growers as well as on behalf of our own J&P Turner farms. JP Exports has distribution channels in every continent of the World, allowing the team to maximise value potential for both growers and customers.
HISTORY
The founders of JP Exports are Jeffery & Peter Turner, their family’s interest and involvement in exports goes back as far as 1912 when their great-grandfather Edward Turner and their grandfather Sir Harvey Turner started exporting apples to England and America.
Throughout the 20th century Sir Harvey, and then his son Jack, continued to develop New Zealand’s produce exporting potential, pioneering many of New Zealand’s current export lines and markets. In fact it was Jack along with his brother Graham who coined the name ‘Kiwifruit’ in 1959 to enhance the marketing potential of a fruit that, until then, had been known as the Chinese Gooseberry.
Jeffery & Peter have themselves had many years in exporting produce, being involved since the 1970’s in the development of new markets and products.JP Exports Ltd is named in honour of Jeffery & Peter’s father Jack – John “Jack” Penman Turner, affectionately known as “JP”.

Jeffery commenced in the produce industry in 1970 when he joined as one of the fourth generation family members of Turners & Growers Ltd. He worked in various areas of the business including store, sales, transport, imports and exports. Jeffery is the current Chairman of the J&P Turner Group, companies which include Fresh Direct, Turner Family Farms and JP Exports.

Peter's involvement in the produce industry goes back to 1978 when he started work for Turners & Growers Ltd as a fourth-generation family member. He worked in the store before becoming vitally involved in both domestic, import and export marketing. Peter is the current Managing Director of the J&P Turner Group.

Based in the mighty Bay of Plenty, John is the newest member of the JP Export’s fast growing and highly experienced avocado team . John is an orchardist in his own right and will analyse your orchard’s potential for growth like he would his own.

Based in Maungatapere and provides avocado orchards from the mid-North to the Far-North with technical support, orchard management advice, and services, as well as Avogreen monitoring and all GAP compliance requirements.
Diane has been an avocado for many years in both the Far-North, and more recently in Maungatapere.

Also based in the BOP, Kazel works alongside John Bird to provide all compliance, GAP, health, and safety requirements for the JP Turner Group in this region. Also an avocado grower in her own right.
